Root Canal treatment is performed to save a tooth that is severely decayed and becomes infected. Root canal treatment removes the infected tissue from the tooth canal and the canal is then cleaned and filled to prevent further infection. The benefit of root canal treatment is that the patient will retain their natural tooth and function.
